Just a few weeks and then i will have a holiday. It will be in France in Normandy. Before we leave I can take my leftover holiday days. The reason being that I am going to change jobs. I will nog longer be "webmaster" for PPG, but business consultant for Matchminds.
I look forward to my new role where I will be working more in the advising on enterpsise 2.0, web 2.0, searchtechnology, wiki's, you name it. Basically everything that really interests me.
And then not only the technological part, even though that does have my interest. But also the philosophical and cultural part of it. We are living in a time which is comparable to the time of the printing press and when writing was invented.
A time which offers opportunity for fundamental change and true anarchy, meaning another release from darkness. A new Renaissance or Enlightenment if you will. Let's see if I can make some more idea's running on this.
Especially the new direction that internet and all its applications offers are interesting. Society is going to change much more fundamentally than we understand now. Yet as always things will also stay the same. It's just that those who know how to best change with the times will be the new powerful. But probably that just means that the old elite is joined by newcomers.
